Hello friends of LGA.
We have been very busy over the last month developing new online courses, planning an exciting workshop on municipal fleet acquisitions, and establishing new partnerships to deliver needed educational programs to our communities. I am excited about the range of topics that we will present with our online courses. Thanks to our talented staff, Sarah Godfrey, and insightful board members who led the effort to create a technological solution to program delivery, LGA’s website will continue to be a robust resource for local governments.
Since the Municipal Intern Fair on March 27, we have worked closely with municipal staff to finalize the selection of interns for the 2019 LGA Municipal Intern Program. The range of municipal projects offered this year is an exciting blend of public administration, planning, communications, and more. We are excited to watch these projects develop and get to know the Interns better and learn from them as they learn about local government functions.
Carrying on a longstanding tradition, we are looking forward to the 2019 LGA Promoting Excellence Golf Outing. This event helps LGA continue to offer financial assistance to distressed communities and is essential to our operations. I want to thank our sponsors who have stepped up to demonstrate their support of LGA. Because of your help, we can continue to offer educational programming designed specifically for local governments.
With the mission to Promote Excellence in Local Government, LGA will continue to offer educational programs and technical assistance to elected officials, municipal staff, and the public. Please contact me with suggestions for new training and educational programs. We are always interested in hearing your thoughts to promote the strong and responsive local government systems necessary for healthy and vibrant communities.
