Thursday, October 12: Hot Topics in Remote Work will focus on updating policies to allow employers to preserve management rights, utilization of employee monitoring and performance tools, and employer needs considerations in setting remote work policies.
Thursday, October 20: How to Fight Blight with Conservatorship will help you know when a property qualifies for a conservatorship, what a conservatorship petition should include, and possible reuse opportunities of properties that are subject to a conservatorship.
Thursday, November 3: Using Technology to Improve Work Orders and Fleet Management will help you understand how GIS can be an effective and simplistic tool to enhance municipal field operations and direct fleets more efficiently.
Thursday, November 10: Managing Municipal Pension Obligations with Internal Revenue Code section 115 will explain how to better manage short-term costs and long-term liabilities associated with pensions and other employee benefits, and how to use these plans that provide a tax exempt source of funds for employees to use on healthcare expenses, including premiums in retirement.
Thursday, November 17: Privatizing Municipal Water & Wastewater Systems will discuss privatizing municipal water and wastewater systems and how municipalities can take advantage of the Act 12 Fair Market Value legislation (2016) to do so.
