Finding something to do in October is not difficult if you live in Western Pennsylvania. We are home to so many fairs, festivals and community days that it can be almost overwhelming to choose which direction to go – of course in the best possible way.
These events are cultural cornerstones of our society and are often the results of our local government officials working to create resilient and thriving communities.
We celebrate the municipal officials who are partnering with their residents, the business community, youth groups, and faith leaders to organize events to build civic and community pride. Such efforts do not just generate goodwill but also bring vital economic development opportunities to the region.
So, it is a real compliment that there is such interest in the Butler County Local Government Officials Course. Hosted by Butler County and facilitated by Local Government Academy, this 3-day, in-person workshop was designed as a refresher course on the fundamental aspects of local government responsibilities.
We were humbled by the number of local government officials and municipal staff who give up their free time to learn from experienced leaders about real-world applications of these responsibilities. We take great comfort knowing that our officials are working diligently to provide the best local government services and follow best practices for good governance.
For over forty-years, Local Government Academy has been doing what we do best, providing free or low-cost, non-partisan, educational programs designed for new and veteran elected officials and municipal staff. We encourage county and local officials to participate in ongoing professional development opportunities when they arise and invite you to partner with us to Promote Excellence in Local Government.
