As we transition into the vibrant days of May and (hopefully) out of all this rain, we’re thrilled to continue our work advancing excellence in local government through projects in blight and career development.
For starters, our Municipal Intern Program is beginning in earnest with many of our placement sites starting their projects throughout this month. Moreover, we are delighted to be partnering with the Allegheny League of Municipalities to host a Women In Leadership Networking Event on Wednesday, May 22 at Shannopin Country Club, where we will have the opportunity to hear from women leaders from Butler County, Allegheny County Emergency Services, North Braddock Borough, and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. We are also continuing our technical assistance work, partnering with the Alle-Kiski Intergovernmental Council and Westmoreland County to support blight remediation strategies in six municipalities in the region.
All this, and we are just getting started! So grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and let’s dive into what’s happening in the world of local governance this May!
