It’s hard to believe that our elected officials are having to make such life-altering decisions as they are now. Instead of developing fiscal oversight policies, they are now closing public buildings. Considering that the 2019 General Election saw a record number of community leaders stepping up to serve at the local government level for the first time, such events must be mind-blowing.
We all rely on the services provided by our boroughs, townships, cities, and home-rule municipalities. We expect answers and access to our public spaces as our right.
But how do we protect those of you working to deliver essential services?

Local Government Academy will continue doing what we do best: sharing information relevant to local governments, building relationships, and developing local leaders. While we may have to make some adjustments, our programs will continue, including our unique, capacity-building Municipal Intern Program.
Yes, these might be uncertain times, but I am confident that education, cooperation, and local leadership will always be needed.
