Grads and undergrads: the projects for this year’s Municipal Intern Program have been selected.
Each year, we open up submissions for local governments to pitch their summer internship project ideas to us, and our Selection Committee reviews and chooses which projects will be a part of the Municipal Internship Program. These projects can cover community engagement with local residents, event coordination and community planning, blight mitigation and code enforcement, ArcGIS mapping and MS4, database development and management, and other topics.
Hey, you can just read about which projects were selected by clicking here.
Once the projects have been selected, grads and undergrads may begin applying for an internship. We help match prospective interns with selected projects, and on Thursday, March 26, 2020, we’re hosting the Municipal Intern Fair at Carnegie Mellon University’s Hamburg Hall from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. At the fair, students have a chance to meet with project supervisors and representatives.
To make your best impression, we encourage prospective interns to send in your application now, so that project supervisors will have a chance to become familiar with your skills and achievements before you meet.
Tip: If your schedule allows, plan to talk with representatives for projects you’re on the fence about. A number of previous interns took a chance and came to find the project was an unexpectedly awesome fit.
How do interns benefit from the program?
Don’t sleep on this opportunity. Polish up your resume, iron your interview shirt, send in your application, and plan to attend the Municipal Intern Fair.
