The workforce in public works is always changing and individuals with a variety of backgrounds find themselves leading public works departments. What are the essentials that every Public Works Supervisor needs to know, regardless of how they came to be in a supervisory position in the field of public works?
Registration is now open for this online course which will identify the expectations for Public Works Supervisors from their bosses, to their governing boards, to the public. Additionally, it will provide instruction in the areas of conflict resolution, coaching and delegation/project management. Finally, participants will learn about industry best practices and standards of performance that apply to all departments – from the smallest to the largest.
Offered in partnership with the Association for Pennsylvania Municipal Management – Western PA Chapter, the American Public Works Association – Western PA Chapter, and Catalyst Connection, this course will feature online instruction, supplemented activities and in-person instruction. Class size is limited in order to build a strong learning environment and foster networking in the course.
