The Municipal Intern Program (MIP) is open and accepting project applications for a 2021 summer intern.

Municipalities, Authorities, and COGs, it’s that time of the year again to submit your best ideas for summer intern project. Applications are due Wednesday, February 10, and successful placement sites receive a reimbursement grant to cover a portion of the intern’s wages. Local Government Academy helps match undergraduate or graduate students with selected placement sites at our annual Municipal Intern Fair.

Eligible intern projects must address key issues local governments face and provide meaningful, real world experience for the intern. Possible project topics could include:

• Planning and Zoning
• Budget and Finance
• Economic Development
• Code Enforcement
• Community Outreach
• Public Works
• Public Safety
